My Little School

This little school has a scripted door, and scripted lights. Below you'll find directions on their use, as well as things to be careful about if you plan on modifying it.

HOW TO USE THE DOOR

The door opens/closes on click. As simple as that.
But, beware:

If you change the size of the build, the door will stop working correctly

This is not an unsurmountable inconvenience, though. You can set the door so it works in the build size you prefer. But you need to check the advanced use section of this documentation.

The door supports access mode. This is set via the configuration notecard. In there, you can also change the open/close sounds to other of your preference, if you will. You can find the documentation here: http://blacktulip-doors.blogspot.com/p/nc-format.html

HOW TO USE THE LAMPS

Click on the metallic part of the wall lamps that are at the entrance of the school, at the sides of the door. This will bring up a menu that allows you to change global settings. Then, if you click the glass of each lamp, you will see that the glow starts a cycle from off to minimum, then to medium, then to maximum, then off.

The global settings allow you to also have the wall lamp working as a SL light point. You will need to activate the glow of the two lamps, by using Light Cycle. When this is on, you can turn on/off the light point separately. Also, you continue being able of turning each individual glow on/minimum/medium/maximum/off, by clicking on the lamp glass.

*** IMPORTANT ***

This item is MESH. This means that scaling UP the object, could make for the LI to raise.
Make sure you have enough LI available before attempting to resize up.

This item also uses custom physics. If you unlink it, then link it again, you may find that, for example, very tall avatars are unable to cross the door. This is because when unlinking, the physics of the items that had it set to none, are reset, and so when linking back, those items act like invisible walls.

In this build, this is the correct physics type per prim:

Main school build Prim, Suggested as root prim
    Door Prim
    Door Frame Prim
    Left & Right Rail Prim
    Windows and Lamp None

*** ADVANCED USE ***

If you would like to modify the lamps configuration, the documentation is here: http://blacktulip-scripts.blogspot.com/2014/02/script-lamps-controller.html

Make sure the lamps are off before trying out any new setting!

If you want to change the door configuration, you will need the demo of the door script, available here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Black-Tulip-Multi-DoorDrawerCurtain-Tool-V2-DEMO/3080985

The documentation is here: http://blacktulip-doors.blogspot.com/

If you are going to modify the school, remember to keep always an ORIGINAL in your inventory!

This build is copy. Modify as you will, keeping an original, in case you make a mistake: You will always have the original to rez a fresh copy and start again.

You will see that, in inventory, the school build shows as copy/no modify/no transfer. But if you rez the school, you will see that the prims are copy/modify/no transfer. The reason why you see something different in your inventory, is because of the scripts and sound samples contained, which are all copy/no modify/no transfer.

This does not affect at all your ability to modify the prims: resize, tint, add more scripts, rename them (inworld)... It's just how permissions work in SL.

I hope you will enjoy this item as much as I've done creating it :-)
